A TOTAL of nine new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed across Dorset within the past 24 hours, according to the latest figures.

The latest Government figures show nine new cases were recorded across Dorset within the latest 24-hour period up to Tuesday May 25.

There has been one new recorded case in the Dorset Council area since the start of the pandemic in March 2020 - bringing the total for the area to 11,942 Covid-19 confirmed cases.

The number of coronavirus cases over the latest rolling seven-day period for the Dorset Council area is 17 cases, with a case rate is 4.5 per 100,000 people.

There were eight new cases recorded cases across the BCP Council area during the same period. The total number of coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic in this area now stands at 25,461.

The rolling seven-day period for the BCP is 31 cases, with a case rate is 7.8 per 100,000 people.

The total number of coronavirus cases recorded across Dorset since the start of the pandemic is 37,394.

In the New Forest, there was no new coronavirus cases recorded within the last 24-hour period, keeping the total for the area up to 6,222.

The seven-day period for New Forest is 14, with a case rate of 7.8 per 100,000 people.
