EIGHT people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Dorset, according to the latest figures.

The latest Government figures show eight new cases were recorded across Dorset within the latest 24-hour period up to Saturday May 15.

There were no new recorded cases in the Dorset Council area. Since March 2020, there has been 11,932 Covid-19 cases confirmed across the Dorset Council area.

The number of coronavirus cases over the latest rolling seven-day period for the Dorset Council area is 20 cases, with a case rate is 5.3 per 100,000 people.

There were eight new cases recorded across the BCP Council area during the same period. The total number of coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic in this area now stands at 25,441.

The rolling seven-day period for the BCP is 35 cases, with a case rate is 8.9 per 100,000 people.

The total number of coronavirus cases recorded across Dorset since the start of the pandemic is 37,373.

In the New Forest, there was one new coronavirus cases recorded within the last 24-hour period. The total number of coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic in this area now stands at 6,218.

The seven-day period for New Forest is 12, with a case rate of 6.7 per 100,000 people.
