BRIDPORT RESERVES 1

HAMWORTHY REC 4

BRIDPORT Reserves wrapped up their DPL Supplementary Cup Group B campaign with a 4-1 defeat to runaway leaders Hamworthy Rec.

Played out in torrential rain at times, Bridport acquitted themselves well against the defending Dorset Premier League champions, who were on Tuesday denied promotion to Step 6 football.

Young Bees’ midfielder Harry Burwood netted a well-taken header but his strike was overwhelmed by Rec’s firepower up front.

Todd Coombs, Carl Edwards, Liam Meldrum and sub Grant Cormack all got on the scoresheet as Rec guaranteed themselves top position and a place in the semis.
