MOST people are hoping for some hot early summer weather this weekend in Dorset - however the weather forecast has disappointing news.
Heavy rain was experienced across the county last night, and sadly more wet weather is expected tomorrow.
The Met Office long-range forecast from May 17 to May 26 warns it will “most likely be remaining unsettled throughout the period” - with the south most likely to see the bulk of showers and thunderstorms and any longer spells of more persistent rain.
Fortunately, this weekend is the last time we’ll have to battle whatever the weather throws at us before we can enjoy the warmth and comfort of indoor service.
If you’ve got outdoor plans this weekend whether it be a walk, barbecue or trip to the pub, here’s what to expect.
Tonight is forecast to be a fairly cloudy but mild night with temperatures across Dorset falling to 9C.
However, on Sunday morning Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester and Bridport are expected to experience heavy rain throughout the day which will change to being partly cloudy by nighttime.
More east of the Dorset Council area in Swanage light rain showers are expected throughout the day which will change to being partly cloudy at night.
Temperatures will reach a high of 13C and a low of 8C across the county. Strong winds will be felt in the afternoon around 1pm in Weymouth, Portland and Purbeck.
