HELP. Can someone please explain why anyone would want to attract attention when driving or riding a car or motorcycle that is either old or significantly under powered. Bridport is becoming awash with unacceptably noisy cars and motorcycles. The noise is not generated by power, but exhaust systems. When I used to ride motorcycles as a lad, and I am now retired, I could not understand, even then, why being unsociably noisy was deemed to be acceptable. In the daytime there are night-workers trying to sleep, and children who may be giving parents a welcome break. Added to the list of unsociable behaviour are exhausts that induce random backfiring that make people of all ages jump.

I would genuinely like to know why members of our society want to be so unsociable. Maybe someone could write to you to explain their thinking?
