WEYMOUTH Women have appointed Tasha Sibley as player-manager after Natalie Anderson left the Terras.

Anderson, who has been an inspirational figure during the return of Weymouth's official women's team, departed by a mutual agreement.

It comes after Weymouth defeated Broadstone 3-1 on Sunday.

Home goalkeeper Maddie Deary produced an outstanding save with barely 15 minutes gone, tipping Sibley's goalbound shot over with a flying stop.

But after her heroics, Deary dropped a catch in the 17th minute, allowing Charlie Wilson to pounce for the game's opening goal.

Lucy Roberts and Naomi Johnson forced Deary into saves before Broadstone drew level.

Terras keeper Kate Osment's throw was cut out and the following attack ended with Carys Tarried slotting home in the 35th minute.

Weymouth were pegged back for just six minutes, however.

Goal machine Shakira Howard unleashed a 35-yard scorching free-kick which gave Deary no chance.

And it took less than two minutes after half-time for Howard to bag her brace.

New signing Hannah Varney was the architect, cutting open Broadstone's defence with a scything through ball for Howard to apply the finishing touches with a deadly strike.

Sibley went close to a fourth late on, only to aim just over the bar, although Weymouth comfortably closed the game out to record back-to-back victories.
