WEYMOUTH centre-back Ben Morgan may not play again this season due to a hamstring injury.

Morgan, 22, joined for a small undisclosed fee from Gloucester City in April.

Morgan played his third game in six days against Barnet on Monday and suffered a suspected torn hamstring, hobbling off in the 13th minute.

And Terras’ manager Brian Stock admitted the injury could rule the 6ft 5in defender out for the remainder of the Vanarama National League campaign.

Speaking to Echosport, Stock also criticised the crammed fixture schedule.

He said: “Ben’s got a very nasty injury, it looks like he’s torn his hamstring.

“That can only one thing: fatigue. It’s tough because you don’t have that contact time with the players.

“You can offer lots of recovery procedures with massage and ice baths, but the onus is on the players to look after themselves.

“The group are honest but when you walk onto the pitch, who knows what your body can go through.

“Ben’s come in and played three games in six days and it looks like it was one too many.”

Stock added: “I’ll be surprised if he plays again this season, he’s in a lot of discomfort.

“We’re going to give him total rest for the next week, ice it and do what we can whilst he’s at home.

“Then we’ll bring him in and we might need to scan it – but I think the treatment would be the same regardless. It would give us a good indicator.”

Josh Leslie-Smith, Brennan Camp or midfielder Jake McCarthy could fill in at centre-half for Morgan.
