A FUNDRAISING campaign aims to bring a 'trishaw' to Bridport to allow older people to experience the thrill of a cycle ride.

A JustGiving campaign has been launched to bring the international initiative to Bridport.

Cycling Without Age was set up to allow elderly people and care home residents to go out on 'trishaw' cycle rides.

A trishaw is a passenger cart, with is pulled along by a cyclist.

A power assisted trishaw costs £8,000 and holds two passengers and boasts a bell, a rain protector and a lowering platform to make it easy for people to get on and off. They are ridden by 'pilots', who receive special training.

The free rides are comfortable and fun, and enable people to experience the town and nature close-up from the bicycle.
