THERE is still time to help save a community hub in Bridport.

Five days remain in the Crowdfunding appeal to raise funds for St Mary's Church House Hall following a difficult financial year due to the pandemic.

The hall's committee is aiming to raise £10,000 to cover existing and predicted losses during 2020 and 2021.

Prior to the pandemic, the hall tended to be busy and thriving, hosting regular activities including yoga, slimming, bingo, music, dance, antiques fairs and more. As a result of Covid and the tightened restrictions, the hall was closed for a total of 235 days in 2020 and was closed for the entirety of this year up until Monday, April 12.

Charitable trust, Power to Change, contributed an additional £5,000 to the campaign last week. However, the funding was granted under the condition that the church hall meets its £10,000 target by Monday, May 10.

The page has currently raised just under £9,000.
