THERE have been a total of 10 new cases of coronavirus confirmed across Dorset over the last 24 hours.

Data released by the Government show 10 cases were recorded in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Tuesday, April 27.

Five people across the Dorset Council area tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 11,908 cases in this area.

The Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council area has recorded five new cases over the same time period, taking the total since the start of the pandemic to 25,375.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 37,283 confirmed cases of coronavirus across Dorset.

Figures show an increase of 129 cases across the south west, with a total of 221,552 recorded since the start of the pandemic.

A total of 1,906 new cases have been recorded across England - bringing the total up to 3,866,919 since the start of the pandemic.

Across the whole of the UK, 2,144 new cases of the Covid-19 virus were recorded taking the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 4,425,940.
