SMOKE from an out of control bonfire created a hazard to drivers on a major road just outside of Bridport.

Officers from the Dorset Police Neighbourhood Policing Team spotted the fire whilst out on patrol yesterday afternoon.

The large, unattended bonfire - described by Bridport Police as out of control - was causing a hazard to drivers on the A35 at Morcombelake, sending smoke across the carriageway and posing a potential risk to nearby hedges.
