WHO doesn't love a three-day bank holiday weekend?
This weekend it's the first of two bank holidays in May and unfortunately the weather isn't looking all that brilliant.
With barbecues off the cards, it's a perfect opportunity to call into one (or all) of your favourite discount stores to nab the latest bargains, or get the food shopping out of the way for the week.
Here are the latest opening times for the major supermarkets, discount stores over the upcoming Early May Bank Holiday weekend:
Home Bargains
Home Bargains bank holiday opening times
Home Bargains in Weymouth will be sticking to its normal opening hours. These are:
8am to 8pm - Monday (including Bank Holiday Monday, 3 May) to Saturday
10.30am to 4.30pm - Sunday
The store is based at Littlemoor Centre on Littlemoor Road, Littlemoor.
TK Maxx
Our nearest TK Maxx store is in Weymouth town centre.
It will open as usual this weekend, and will close slightly earlier than a normal weekday on the Bank Holiday Monday.
Saturday: 9am - 6pm
Sunday 11am - 5pm
Bank Holiday Monday - 9am - 6pm

Lidl
During the Bank Holiday, Lidl has confirmed the majority of stores across England and Wales will be open from 8am to 8pm.
8am to 9pm - Saturday
10am to 4pm - Sunday
8am to 8pm - Monday, 3 May
Aldi
German supermarket Aldi will be open throughout the bank holiday weekend for shoppers across the region.
Its opening hours this weekend are:
8am to 10pm - Saturday
10am to 4pm - Sunday
8am to 8pm - Monday, 3 May
ASDA
Asda stores will generally be opening from 8am to 8pm on Bank Holiday Monday however it's worth checking your local store on the day of your visit using their store locator.
NHS and care workers get priority shopping in larger stores every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8am to 9am, as well as Sundays 9am to 10am for browsing.
Tesco
There are more than 20 Tesco stores in and around south and west Dorset.
When we checked most stores were opening at 8am and closing at 6pm or 8pm but if you need to visit outside of those hours then check the store locator.
The Tesco superstore in Dorchester will be open from 8am to 6pm on Bank Holiday Monday.
Tesco Metro in Weymouth town centre will be open from 9am to 6pm on Bank Holiday Monday.
The Tesco superstore at Easton on Portland will open from 8am to 6pm on Bank Holiday Monday.
Sainsbury's
Sainsbury's stores will be open as usual on Saturday and Sunday but on Monday most stores have different opening times, so check on their website if you local is not listed below.
Sainsbury's at Mercery Road Weymouth: 8am to 8pm Bank Holiday Monday
Sainsbury's at Bridport Road Dorchester: 7am to 10pm Bank Holiday Monday
Poundland
Poundland stores are usually open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
There are Poundland stores in Weymouth town centre and Dorchester town centre.
Poundland has confirmed all stores will be open as normal over the Bank Holiday.
