AN EVENT is set to go ahead live and in-person in June to support a local cause featuring a historian and a journalist.

Bridport Refugee Support Campaign will host ‘Jane Marchese Robinson - Seeking Sanctuary - a history of refugees in Britain’ on Thursday, June 17 from 6.30pm.

As part of Refugee Week 2021, writer and historian Jane Marchese Robinson will come to Bridport to talk about her book, Seeking Sanctuary, which focuses on the history of refugees in Great Britain.

Jane will be discussing the book and the inspiration behind it with former BBC foreign correspondent Martin Dawes.

The event will take place in the Chapel in the Garden, and will raise funds for the Bridport Refugee Support Campaign, which is helping a refugee family settle in Bridport and rebuild their lives.

Tickets cost £10 for adults, £5 for children, and are available from Bridport Tourist Information Centre.
