ARTISTS hoping to be given the chance to deliver a programme of activities and events to promote a newly installed public art trail have until Friday to apply.

b-side, an arts organisation based on Portland, is looking to commission an artist to create and deliver a programme of activities designed to promote and engage people in the Weymouth Public Art Trail - a series of six individual sculptural installations created by six different artists.

The artworks will be installed over the next few months and will be located in different parts of the town, inspired by different aspects of Weymouth's relationship with water.

The programme of activities will take place across the artwork installation phase between May and September before the public trail is fully installed and launched in October.

A spokesman for b-side said: "b-side is working with Dorset Council on this project and promoting this opportunity for an artist or artist collaboration to develop and deliver a programme of community workshops/activities inspired by these artworks and the stories behind them."

The deadline to apply for the commission is Friday, April 23.
