THE TEAM at Bridport Medical Centre have smashed their previous record of Covid vaccinations during one clinic - administering more than 2,500 vaccinations in one day.

2,500 people received Covid-19 vaccinations at the medical centre on Saturday, March 20, the most administered in a single day at the centre so far.

The Jurassic Coast Primary Care Network (PCN) team - made up of staff from Bridport, Barton House Medical Practice, The Tollerford Practice, Lyme Bay Medical and Dental Practices and Charmouth Medical Practice - were helped by volunteers from Bridport Coronavirus Community Support on the day.

A spokesman for Bridport Medical Centre said: “A huge thank you to our Jurassic Coast PCN colleagues and wonderful volunteers from Bridport Coronavirus Community Support for getting 2,500 of our community vaccinated. Our biggest number yet.”

The next vaccination clinic at Bridport Medical Centre will take place on Saturday, March 27.

Invites for first vaccinations at Bridport Medical Centre will temporarily stop from Monday, March 29 due to supply issues.

There is likely to be delays over the next four weeks. The medical centre has emphasised that this will not affect those being booked in for their second dose of the coronavirus vaccination.

Those attending for vaccinations are encouraged to read the appropriate information - at www.bridportmedicalcentre.co.uk/coronavirus - before they arrive for their appointment.
