THE Town Mill in Lyme Regis is getting ready to reopen.

Volunteers at the Town Mill have been busy behind the scenes throughout the lockdown, and are now preparing to reopen on Monday, April 12.

The attraction will be inviting visitors back to see its operational mill water wheel, art galleries and artisans - and volunteers will be back milling flour and opening the doors for flour purchases.

Visitors will be able to see the water wheel turning once again and interact with the millers from a safe distance, learning about the history of the mill in the town.

The Malthouse Gallery will be hosting an exhibition by artist Julie Oldfield, a local artist whose work has been showed at the Bath Society of Artists exhibition, the Royal Society of Marine Artists exhibition and for four consecutive years with at Society of Women Artists the Mall Galleries, London.

Courtyard Gallery will be hosting an open exhibition and is inviting printmakers to show their work. For an entry form, contact petrinatownmill@gmail.com.

Both galleries have a full programme of new and established artists for 2021 and are now booking for 2022.

A spokesman for the Lyme Regis Town Mill said: "Just a few minutes’ walk from the seafront and high street, The Town Mill is Dorset’s ‘Small Visitor Attraction of the Year’ and one of the highlights of a visit to Lyme. We are a unique mix of working watermill, art galleries and creative artisans. It’s a great place to while away an hour or two."
