DORSET is set for a bright start today with sunny intervals before noon and into the evening, according to the latest forecast from the Met Office.

Fog patches are expected during the early morning, but they will clear to leave a rather cloudy but dry day throughout. Cloud will break during the afternoon - giving way to occasional sunny spells, with a maximum temperature 13 °C.

Met Office forecasters have said sunny spells will continue into Tuesday, with some light patchy drizzle.

A band of rain moves across the region on Wednesday morning, but clearer conditions follow then turning unsettled with further rain on Thursday.

The Met Office's outlook for a cold interlude on Friday, with rain, showers and strong winds affecting most of the UK.

From now until Friday the region will see a maximum temperature of 13 °C, which is not expected to drop below 5 °C, according to the Met Office.
