BRIDPORT have finished building a new outdoor seating area at St Mary’s Field.

Up to 40 people can sit on the benches donated by president David Fowler, with numerous sponsors supporting the project.

In future, the Bees hope to cover the seating off to protect football fans from the elements.

Elsewhere, John Godbold’s first team will return to action on Friday, May 21 with an inter-cup game against Shaftesbury (2.30pm).

The fixture is the second of three on the day at the Bees’ home ground, with Shepton Mallet tackling Wincanton at 11.30am and Sherborne against Street (5.30pm) rounding off the footballing feast.

Richard Middelton’s reserve team are in action much earlier, with their first behind-closed-doors cup fixture at home to Dorchester Sports on Saturday, April 3.

The Bees will also expect any new players signing for the club to do so for all three of its senior men’s teams.
