NO new coronavirus deaths have been recorded in Dorset hospitals in the latest 24-hour period, figures show.

Data released by NHS England shows there were no new deaths in the county’s hospitals, but there were three deaths in the wider south west region.

It means the totals remain the same, with 720 deaths coming at the University Hospitals Dorset Trust since the start of the pandemic, 110 people have died at the Dorset County Hospital and 72 people have died at the Dorset Healthcare Trust.

Across England, a further 76 people died in hospital with Covid-19.

Patients were aged between 47 and 102 years old and all but one had underlying health conditions.

The deaths date back to December 11 with the majority coming after March 11.

The total number of confirmed reported deaths in English hospitals is now 85,310.
