NO NEW coronavirus deaths have been recorded in Dorset hospitals or across the south west, according to latest figures.

NHS England has reported no new Covid-19 death have been recorded within the Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in the latest 24-hour period.

It means, since the start of the pandemic, the figures remain the same as yesterday with a total of 720 people dying from the virus at UHD.

A total of 110 people have died at Dorset County Hospital 72 people have died at the Dorset Healthcare Trust. The deaths date back to January 10 with the majority coming after March 10.

Across England, a further 49 people died in hospital with Covid-19.

Patients were aged between 50 and 93 years old and all but three had underlying health conditions.

NHS England guidance states: "Confirmation of Covid-19 diagnosis, death notification and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure."

Only deaths that occur in hospitals where the patient has tested positive for Covid-19 are recorded, with deaths in the community excluded, such as those in care homes.
