CONSTRUCTION WORK has begun on a long-running project to bring a skate park to Beaminster.
The new skate park will be built at the Memorial Playing Fields off Hogshill Street, and it is hoped that it will be completed by early May.
As a result of the ongoing works, the fields' car park will be closed to vehicles for a period of approximately nine weeks.
Plans to build a skate park in the area have been ongoing for the past five years - with the building of a skate park being identified as a priority in a survey taken by Beaminster residents in 2016.
The town council was awarded more than £98,000 from the National Lottery Communities Fund in January to enable it to deliver the Skate Park in 2021.
