FIREFIGHTERS were called to a kitchen blaze caused by a plastic container left on top of the hob.
A crew from Beaminster Fire Station were alerted to a fire after an alarm receiving centre contacted them due to an alarm going off at a home on Barnes Lane, Beaminster, at 4.55pm yesterday afternoon.
There had been a small fire in the kitchen caused by a plastic container which had accidentally been left on top of the hob.
By the time the crew had arrived the fire had already been extinguished.
A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "A crew from Beaminster were mobilised to alarms sounding at a residential property in Barnes Lane.
"Upon investigation, crews discovered a fire in a kitchen which was out on arrival."
Firefighters were stood down at 5.18pm.
