THE RNLI is recruiting volunteer lifeguards on the Dorset coast to help keep beachgoers safe this summer.
The charity is looking for volunteers to help patrol areas along the coast including Weymouth Beach, Greenhill, West Bay and Lyme Regis.
The RNLI says the roles are ideal for newly qualified lifeguards looking for some practical experience, or experienced lifeguards looking to help out in their free time.
Volunteer lifeguards will patrol alongside employed lifeguards, helping the RNLI fulfil its commitment to keeping Dorset coastlines safe.
Recruits must be at least school leaving age, with excellent rescue and people skills, and who can commit to around 80 hours across the season.
In addition, applicants must hold a valid ILS recognised beach lifeguard qualification and be able to demonstrate the required level of fitness and competency, and complete health and eye sight checks.
