THE committee of the Bridport & District Friendship Group has now completed the winding up of the club.
Sadly, due to the circumstances, the group cannot foresee it reopening. Having consulted with Age UK to which the group was affiliated the funds in the account will be split equally between the following charities: The Cinnamon Trust; Citizens Advice Bureau; NSPCC; Weldmar Hospicecare; Cancer Research; The Smile Train; Age UK.
Ann Pownall from the group said: "We have all had good times at the club, interesting speakers, lunches and outings over the years and we shouldn't forget Joy Endean who started the group many years ago.
