FEWER than 270 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Dorset in the last 24 hours.
Across the county, 269 people returned positive tests in the 24-hours leading up to 4pm on Sunday January 31.
In the BCP Council area, there were 174 new cases, bringing the total number cases recorded across the authority area since the start of the pandemic to 22,175.
In the Dorset Council area, there have been 95 new cases of the Covid-19 virus, bringing the area’s cumulative total to 9,738.
In the seven days preceding January 31, there have been 1,878 cases in the BCP area giving a rate per 100,000 people of 237.5.
During the same period, the wider Dorset area saw 899 cases with an infection rate of 237.5.
The Government’s figures stated that, as of 4pm on Sunday January 31, a further 21,088 tests in the UK had come back as positive, bring the total number of cases in the UK to 3,817,176.
