A MAN from Portland will appear in court next month after a gang allegedly burst into a man’s home and stole cash.
Dorset Police said officers were called to Lennox Street in Weymouth at 9.26pm on Thursday, January 14 following a report of a burglary and a man being assaulted.
An investigation was launched by Dorset Police, where officers discovered cash and some items had been stolen.
A search of the area was conducted, and police officers were at the address on Friday, January 15 and over the weekend to carry out reassurance patrols.
Christopher David Davies, 35, of Portland, was arrested and charged with robbery. He appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, January 16 and entered no plea to the charge.
Magistrates told Mr Davies to attend Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday, February 19 to enter a plea.
A spokeswoman for Dorset Police confirmed investigations in the alleged burglary are ongoing and no other arrests have been made.
She said: “There are no further arrests at this time. Enquiries remain ongoing into the incident.”
