TWO men will appear at court again next month after police officers were allegedly assaulted as they broke up a group congregating on Weymouth seafront.
Dorset Police say officers were called to the Esplanade early on Friday, January 15 after a group were said to be breaching coronavirus rules were told to leave the area.
Alexander West, aged 44 and of Blandford, and Peter Gareth Doyle, aged 34 and of Weymouth, were charged with assaulting an emergency worker. West has also been charged with obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty.
Mr West and Mr Doyle both appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, January 16 where they entered no plea.
Both will appear at Bournemouth Crown Court to enter a plea on Thursday, February 18.
