A TEENAGER is forging a promising career as an interviewer using the online video-sharing platform YouTube.

Charlie Wheeler, 14, who attends Sir John Colfox Academy in Bridport, regularly interviews people in the TV, dance and music industries.

Charlie, who lives in Mosterton, launched his YouTube channel, 'tnswaves', in August 2020. He has since gained more than 200 subscribers and has reached up to 6,500 viewers on some of his videos.

Charlie's videos often feature him interviewing people from a variety of different backgrounds of entertainment, including producers, dancers, actors and choreographers.

During these interviews, Charlie's guests go into detail about their careers and how they progressed to get to where they are today.

Charlie said: "I feel so honoured to be able to speak to people who I look up to and who I’ve grown up watching. It’s also such a lovely feeling that people watch my videos.

"Making the videos is super fun, but when you know people are watching them, it gives you a really good feeling inside.

"I think that creating a YouTube channel is a really good idea if you want a confidence boost and if you want to start to get known in industries you are interested in. I cover dance content but you can basically work with whatever interests you.

"It would be great for more younger people and people around the UK to watch these interviews and hopefully be inspired by the people I talk to."

Much of Charlie's content is focussed around the CBBC show, 'The Next Step' and he has even featured one of the stars of the show, Dawson Handy, on his channel. In the coming months, as many as ten CBBC stars will appear on the channel.

He also has many more interviews lined up for the next few weeks, with choreographer, Pyro Perspective, dance troop, Flow XS, dancer and actress, Milainia Chanel and hip-hop dancer, Isaiah Peck.
