DELAYS built on a key route after temporary traffic lights stopped working.

Temporary traffic lights were installed on the B3157 Coast Road in Langton Herring, near to the junction for Nottington Lane, on Tuesday, January 5 as part of roadworks carried out by Wessex Water.

Travel Dorset has shared that the temporary traffic lights are currently not working on Monday, January 11. Police officers were called to assist with traffic and engineers have been notified of the issue.

Traffic maps reported delays in and around the junction for Nottington Lane and motorists were warned to allow plenty of journey time.

The temporary traffic lights were fully functional again at 8.55am.

A spokesman for Travel Dorset shared: "Temporary traffic lights failed in the roadworks area at Nottington Lane (on the blind summit). Police en-route and engineers notified.

"Approach with care."

A spokesman for Dorset police said: "We were called at 8.04am with a report of a traffic light failure on the B3157 near Langton Cross.

"Officers attended to assist with traffic control. It was subsequently reported at around 8.55am that the lights appeared to be working again."
