A HEARTFELT thank you to Soulshine and the RedBrick Café for making Christmas Day thoroughly enjoyable and welcoming.

My companion, who'll be 90 next spring was pleasantly surprised and is planning to take her nephew there when they can next meet.

The atmosphere was jolly. The food was delicious and the bubbly went down very well. Framptons donated beef and a small local Holsworthy farm donated the turkey.

The bookshop, without prompting, joined in the generosity by wrapping up books, hardbacks too. Am now reading Rachel Cusk who is new to me.

Another diner was delighted with her humorous book and said it was going to give her cheer into the New Year.

Malabar Trading had donated wrapped prezzies of creams and soaps. Someone had made table decorations and tealights in recycled cosmetic pots created a festive feel.

So again thank you to Lisa, Herbie Treehead and Joy Bariana and their son Rory and all the other dancing, singing staff who made our Christmas Day special.
