NO DECISION has been made on whether to approve controversial plans to build homes on a Christchurch pub’s car park after councillors agreed to defer it.
Amirez Ltd’s application for the Smugglers’ Run site in Purewell had been recommended for refusal by council planning officers.
They raised concerns about the flood risks the seven-home scheme would bring, about the impact it would have on the listed pub and the “cramped” living conditions it would provide.
The council’s planning committee had been due to make a decision on the scheme at their meeting on Thursday but it agreed to a request from the developer to defer a decision.
It will now be considered at a future meeting of the committee.
