LYME Regis RNLI has announced a successful money-raising year in spite of the turbulent times.

The RNLI's shop on the Cobb raised £48,230 between January and October, despite being forced to close due to the lockdown. The shop was able to reopen yesterday as the second national lockdown was lifted.

The lifeboat crew once again featured in the popular BBC TV series Saving Lives at Sea in November, and were shown rescuing a woman and her two dogs trapped beneath the cliffs at Black Ven.

The shop’s volunteer manager Krys Lavery said: “We are delighted to be back in the business of supporting our charity and just in time to help our loyal customers with their Christmas present choices.

"Thank you to everyone for your continued help and enthusiasm in helping to keep our lovely little shop open in difficult times.”
