AN appeal for children's winter coats and warm pyjamas will launch tomorrow.

Dorset Council has organised an appeal for new, or nearly new, winter coats and warm pyjamas that are suitable for children aged between three and 12.

Councillor Andrew Parry, Dorset Council portfolio holder for children, education, skills and early help, said: "Outdoor play is incredible beneficial for children, and with winter drawing in we are asking residents to support Dorset's children to help them stay warm and dry by providing a winter coat and cosy pyjamas."

There will be a one week window where people can drop off items, an isolation period for the clothes to minimise risk of Covid transmission, and then a week where families can pick up donated items.

The drop-off week will be December 4-10, and the pick-up week will be December 14-20.
