LODERS Youth Club wishes to inform the local community of the much appreciated share of the Waitrose Community Fund which has continued in spite of the abolition of the ‘green token scheme’ whereby three deserving causes have been paid out a third-share of their £1,000 monthly contribution to local organisations.
Loders Youth Club is most thankful for the donation of some £333 enabling forward planning to reopen under safety guidelines as soon as possible. The currently ever-changing circumstances and safety standards have meant a huge amount of time given to risk assess and much stress for their youth leader, Rachel Nokes. Risk assessments are forever changing in the light of Government guidelines.
Loders Youth Club maintains a Facebook page and access for children to reach out (monitored by Rachel) if they need to, ideas for crafts and activities and we are presently organising “activity boxes” to lend out provided by volunteers Tina Cornish and Val Widger.
Every child matters and at Loders Youth Club we aim to provide for the needs of the young people - whether this is a media communication/help line, hobby-craft activities or sign-posting to other organisations who support, nurture and liaise.
Well done Waitrose for continuing your giving and nurturing scheme and we at Loders Youth Club thank you for all your help.
TINA CORNISH MBE
