AFTER an investigation into suspected drugs activity, anti-social behaviour and violence, entry inside one Salisbury property is forbidden.

Entering the site in Eyres Way will now be treated as committing a criminal offence and could lead to being arrested, officers warn.

Increased patrols will be carried out in the area to ensure the closure order is followed.

The order has been issued at the site following the joint investigation between Wiltshire Police and Wiltshire Council.

Officers from the Salisbury area community policing team said they had been called to the property in question "numerous times".

Granted by Salisbury Magistrates Court yesterday, November 25, the closure orders means that members of the public are now prohibited from entering the premises.

Anyone found doing so over the next three months will be committing a criminal offence and may be arrested.

PC Mark Douglas said he hopes this measure will have a positive impact on people living in the community, because of "how much misery has been caused in the local area by the criminal activity at this address".

He added: "We have worked hard with the local authority to have this full closure order granted by the courts.

“We now need to make it clear that this property has been closed and that anyone who is found there could be arrested.

“We hope this shows that we, along with Wiltshire Council, will take strong action to protect our local communities and keep people safe from this type of anti-social and criminal behaviour.”
