Car park charges have been increased across Dorset
HOW impossibly short sighted is any increase in charges for parking not to mention the proposed extra hours/days!
Take a leaf, I suggest, out of Witney’s (in Oxfordshire) book by abolishing charges and de facto penalties for stays up to 4 hours (and that is only in place to prevent people who work there from using bays that could otherwise be used by shoppers).
Inevitably, the town has never been busier and all the shops, many independent, thrive as a direct consequence.
