I AM aware of the reasons for the closure of the West Bay Road and it has been well publicised over the past few weeks.

However, knowing how much extra traffic was going to be using the Marsh Barn Road (Station Road) which is already in a poor state of repair, drivers have many obstacles to overcome if they are unlucky enough, as I have been, to encounter buses and large HGVs when using this road.

There is often very little chance to manoeuvre on the road to allow for larger vehicles because of the sunken kerbside which is mud filled at this time of year and also, the over growth of bushes and hedgerow driving towards Marsh Barn should have been cut back so that there was more leeway for drivers' to pull roadside when necessary. Some of us have damage already from the numerous potholes and scratched bodywork on our cars as a result and it is disappointing that a little more thought was not taken before the road was used for this diverted traffic.

Also, on a point of safety, can people still using this road either to walk their dogs or just walking along, do so in single file and be sensible enough, not to use it as pedestrians unless absolutely essential. We all have to be inconvenienced in one way or another for these few weeks and should try to be sensible about it.
