AN APPLICATION has been made to Dorset Council to re-model a building to the rear of the antique map and book shop in Puddletown High Street.

The single storey attached outbuilding is currently used for storage. The proposals seek to remodel it and make it more secure and weathertight to provide a controlled environment for books and maps.

The consent requested asks for the removal of asbestos cement roof sheeting and timber bearers with a new roof, finished in natural slate, to replace it. The external wall will be finished in traditional limewash with a new door opening into the main book store.
