CHANGES are set to be made to two well-used west Dorset bus routes - including cutting a Sunday service.

First Wessex has revealed there will be revisions made to its Jurassic Coaster services, which will be in place from Sunday, November 22.

These changes will affect the X51 service, which runs from Axminster to Dorchester via Bridport, and the X53 service, which runs from Axminster to Weymouth, via Bridport.

The first weekday service from Bridport to Axminster will be moved forward to an earlier time. The first X51 service of the day, which currently leaves Bridport Bus Station at 6:43am, will depart at 6:29am and will arrive at Axminster at 7:27am.

There is also set to be changes to the weekend schedule.

The X51 service is set to be entirely removed on Sunday, with no route to Dorchester.

Passengers wishing to travel to Dorchester may still do so by changing at Weymouth and catching the number 10 bus.

The X53 service which runs between Axminster and Weymouth will run as usual.

The information was revealed to local transport campaigners and is is understood more details will be available next week.
