A POPULAR jazz band from Bristol will be taking to the stage at Bridport Arts Centre next month.

The Old Malt House Jazz Band has played at a number of celebrated festivals, including Glastonbury, Boomtown and Fanny's Meadow.

The band has a passion for the style of trad jazz made famous in the 1920s and will be playing at the arts centre as part of the 'Jazz in the Theatre' series on Friday, November 13.

The band is led by Joseph Trudgeon and his regular collaborator, saxophonist Greg Sterland. They will be joined by their rhythm section of Dan Somers on piano, Mike Kennedy on double bass and Barney C Rockford on drums.

Their set will include Louis Armstrong’s 'Dinah', Billie Holiday’s 'Me, Myself and I (Are All in Love with You)', and 'Can't we be Friends' by Red Nichols and his Five Pennies.

Entry is £12. Tickets are available online at www.bridport-arts.com/event/jazz-in-the-theatre-november-12/ or by phone on 01308 424901.
