Dorset residents are being warned about dog thieves following a suspected break-in attempt at a kennel.
According to police, two men were disturbed whilst allegedly attempting to steal dogs from a kennel at a farm in the Hilfield area overnight on Saturday October 24.
A police spokesman said: "It is believed that they were attempting to steal the dogs and on being disturbed they got into a waiting Land Rover Discovery type vehicle and drove off towards the Sherborne area.
"Please be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to us on 101, or if you believe a crime is in progress, call 999."
