BRIDPORT assistant-manager Kevin Leigh has confirmed striker Paulo Borges has switched to Wellington.

Borges had featured for the Bees in pre-season but Leigh revealed the forward will not play at St Mary’s Field this campaign.

Leigh said: “He’s gone to Wellington, they put in seven days for him.

“He looked very good in training but when we actually played him he didn’t come up to the mark.

“He didn’t work hard, didn’t look as though he was going to score. It just wasn’t right.

“We had another one – Solomon Ayunga – who was an absolutely superb player.

“Good on the ball, good turn of speed, goes by players, absolutely wonderful.

“It’s difficult because in pre-season we were quite jovial about what we had and people that could come in and do a job for us.

“Then, one by one they’ve gone to the wayside, which is frustrating.”

Leigh confirmed Ayunga has made himself unavailable for selection since the 2-1 FA Cup defeat at Willand Rovers in September.
