PLANS for new signs on a telephone shop in Dorchester have been withdrawn after town councillors described them as ‘awful.’
The application, for the shop in Cornhill, South Street, for EE, had included putting logos in two first floor windows.
Town councillor Andy Canning described the signs as “absolutely ***** awful” at this week’s town council planning committee.
Committee chairman Cllr Robin Potter shared the view and recommending voting to reject the application as “inappropriate to the street scene”.
Dorchester Civic Society had also objected to the application.
The day after the comments were made the application was withdrawn from the planning register.
