Here is the exclusive first look inside the new £35m EG Group Headquarters in Blackburn.

The four-story building with views over Fishmoor Reservoir at Haslingden Road took three years to complete and takes up 130,000 square feet of space. The new offices have 36 state of the art meeting rooms and can accommodate up to 700 staff with room for more in the future, making it one of the largest commercial building projects of its kind in the region.

Staff took up residency in the building in mid-August but due current social distancing restrictions only half the number are working in the offices.

Tom Jeremiah, Group Planning and Permit Director at the EG Group said, “This feels like our home already and the staff are loving their new surroundings. Blackburn with Darwen has been good to us and this is a way of repaying our staff who deserve this for all their hard work. It is recognition of all the efforts.”

Tom said, “The former offices took up 35,000 square feet so you can see the difference in size and space.

“Here, at the new office we have teams supporting the ten international markets we operate in. So, we have people working at different hours of the day.

“The offices are Covid-19 compliant, with a one-way system in place, hand sanitisers and automated temperature check on entrance.”

The design of the building was undertaken by Blackburn based architects Campbell Driver Partnership with the building works led by B Quinn Civil Engineering based in Darwen.

The company was founded in 2001 by brothers Mohsin and Zuber Issa with the acquisition of a single petrol filling station in Bury and now alongside hundreds of forecoruts the company has expanded into a range of retail property.

The offices will soon have another car park entrance on Haslingden Road as part of a road widening scheme which is aimed at cutting traffic congestion on one of the main gateways into Blackburn with Darwen and improving access to the town’s hospital.
