A MOTORCYCLIST who decided to display his number plate on his rucksack, rather than his bike, has been fined by police.
The Dorset Police No Excuse team pulled the man over yesterday morning on the busy A35.
Officers couldn’t see a number plate on the vehicle, so stopped it to check. Upon speaking with the rider they discovered he couldn’t find anywhere to display the plate so decided to put it on the back of his rucksack.
As well as being incorrectly displayed, the plate was also illegal. Police issued the rider with a fixed penalty notice.
The No Excuse casualty reduction operation supports Dorset Police's priority to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured on the county's roads.
The message is that there is ‘no excuse’ for bad or careless driving and riding on Dorset’s roads.
