Live music is coming back to west Dorset with the creation of a brand-new cabaret music venue.

The Half Moon Events in association with JSW Entertainment Group have teamed together to launch the first socially distanced music venue in the area.

The brainchild of Jamie Isaacs and Jamie Pimbley was created during lockdown as the UK live music industry went into paralysis.

Jamie Pimbley, landlord of the Half Moon in Melplash, said: “With so many parts of the cultural sector in disarray, this opportunity has taken a lot of careful consideration and understanding of the Government Covid guidelines.

“We are proud to be at the forefront of a new age in events and can’t wait to open the doors to the good people of Dorset.”

A folk, blues and Americana programme of music will grace the stage at the popular Melplash pub on Sundays this Autumn, which includes south west based artists and starts on September 6.

Jamie Isaacs, CEO at JSW Entertainment Group, said: “At JSW we are truly committed to the highest possible production and execution of all our events.

“Our industry has been at a standstill since March and we have been working on a range of projects to relight the fires of the entertainment industry.

“We understand that most traditional venues and theatres may not open until 2021 due to the ongoing uncertainty of high cost productions and huge reopening costs.

“With Jamie and Claire at the Half Moon, we are excited to trial new safe working practises and styles of bringing live entertainment back to not only the local area but to out international network of events.

“We have invited a range of artists to perform at the venue and we hope withy the success of this format to be bringing more events over the coming months and into 2021.”

Sunday Sessions is a series of seated cabaret performances hosted at the Half Moon.

Jamie added: “At the venue we have installed a high end marquee system with full drape lining, heating and the very best in technical production, which in turn has turned the pub garden into our own high class cabaret, socially distanced music venue in the midst of the west Dorset countryside.”

Tables must be booked in advance and are available in bubbles of two, three, four and six. This can be done at halfmoonevents.co.uk
