Masterchef presenter John Torode returned to west Dorset last week for more filming.

The celebrity chef was spotted in Lyme Regis, where he visited the Boat Building Academy and spoke to students and staff about the 40-week boat building course, as well as filming a cooking segment on Cobb Gate shingle beach.

He was filming a segment in Lyme and the surrounding area for This Morning, which is thought to go out on Wednesday, September 2 at 11.05am, but this is subject to change.

However, things don’t always seem go to plan for the chef when he is affiliated with west Dorset.

In August last year he visited The Club House in West Bexington as part of ITV’s This Morning programme, cooking a crab linguine in the garden live on air.

However, the broadcast was interrupted by a helicopter landing on the restaurant’s lawn, which caused some of the ingredients and items to blow away, while Mr Torode was talking to presenters Davina McCall and Rochelle Humes through a live video link to the studio.

But this did not deter the chef as he managed to save the linguine from falling over and carried on.

More recently during the coronavirus lockdown, he was seen wearing a Hive Beach Cafe t-shirt when he appeared on This Morning doing a cooking demonstration from his home.

He joined This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield to show them how to make a McDonald’s sausage McMuffin. However, he was completely unaware he had set fire to a tea towel on his oven and the pair tried to alert Mr Torode.

He calmly carried it to the sink, but the demonstration was interrupted again when his fire alarm went off.
