I WAS saddened to hear about the behaviour of some members of the public abusing carers in our community.
From 2013 to 2017 my mother was cared for by many carers in several different care settings until she died at the age of 101.
I had great respect for the carers all of whom had compassion, empathy and skill which, along with a sense of humour, made my mother feel well cared for in her final years.
Carers do a very demanding job and, at present, in difficult circumstances.
I have high regard for them as part of a valuable workforce.
