A coastguard team was called to investigate a pile of clothes found near the edge of a cliff.

Police reported a pile of clothes on top of Doghouse Hill, to the east of Seatown, at about 7.40pm yesterday.

Three members of West Bay coastguard rescue team were called to investigate

A quick search of the area found nothing of immediate concern and the reported clothing was no longer there. Because the clothes were reported as being near to the cliff edge, the officers re-positioned to an area near Ridge Cliff and used binoculars to search the cliff face below Doghouse Hill. With no clothing spotted and nothing indicating that persons were in distress, the officers were then stood down to return to station.
