Teachers at Woodroffe School have praised students as they continue the school’s track record of ‘academic excellence’ with great A level results.

It has been a difficult year for students with the absence of exams and they nervously arrived at school to pick up their results.

Headteacher Dan Watts said: “This has been a very challenging year for all students and the significant disruption to education has been felt most keenly by those who should have taken their final exams this summer. Our school has a long track record of academic excellence and this year, despite the difficulties faced, is no different. Our students have achieved incredibly well across the full range of A-Level and Level 3 qualifications and will continue to do so within their chosen new destinations.

“Our staff have worked incredibly hard to ensure that students have been cared for and have continued to receive the best education possible. We have strived to ensure that students have been given every chance to pursue their chosen next steps and staff will remain available to offer support and guidance where needed. “

We wish them well and are confident that they are on course to succeed at degree level and beyond.”

An appeals process is in place and exams will be offered to any students wishing to sit them.
